This week features some new Colourpop, Pat McGrath, and other Indie makeup releases
Colourpop x Avatar
Colourpop is collaborating with Avatar: The Last Airbender.
This collection features an eyeshadow palette, glossy lip stains, crème gel liners, super shock highlighters, and a compact appa mirror. The collection also includes a lip mask and a mini mask duo couple of staples from their sister brand, Fourth Ray Beauty.
I’ve never actually watched Avatar: The Last Airbender! When Colourpop posted their teaser about the new collection, I didn’t understand! I asked my hubby what he thought ‘Long go, the four nations lived together in harmony 🌊🪨🔥🌬’ meant. He knew exactly what it was when he saw it and immediately got excited!
I love Colourpop, but their formula can be hit or miss for me. If this is the good Colourpop eyeshadow formula, I’m sure this will be a lovely palette. Colourpop releases so much, that I really need to feel the nostalgia factor or really love the collection in order to purchase it.
The color story is supposedly not what everyone expected. I liked the red and blue but I definitely thought there would be some green in there from what I’ve heard.
The artwork and packaging is absolutely stunning, but I think I’ll pass on this collection for now. The collection will be available on March 24.
Pat McGrath x Bridgerton Vol. 2
Pat McGrath is releasing a new collection with Bridgerton for the upcoming season two premiere!
This collection features a new mini MTHRSHP: Belle of the Ball Palette, a blush palette called Blushing Delights, a selection of SatinAllure™ Lipstick, a body shimmer, and a kohl eyeliner.
I did review the original collection, which featured an eyeshadow palette very similar to this one; two matte pinks and a blue shimmer. This new palette has a gold shade that looks very promising. The packaging is absolutely stunning and very “Bridgerton.” I’m not sure I love the empty space in the packaging of the blush palette, but it does look very nice! The lipsticks look so pretty and I absolutely love the idea of a body shimmer.
Being a fan of Pat McGrath AND Bridgerton, I’m absolutely picking this collection up. This is a collector’s dream! I do wish the color story of the palette was a little different, but I know I’ll get my use out of it this spring and summer.
Norvina Vol. 6 Palette
Anastasia Beverly Hills’ subbrand called Norvina is releasing another pro pigment eyeshadow palette. This is volume 6 and it features 25 highly pigmented rainbow shades. The palette will be released soon and will be $60.
I will most definitely be picking this palette up! The colors are totally my vibe and you can expect a review as soon as it is released!
R.E.M Beauty Chapter 2 Goodnite N Go Collection
Ariana Grande’s new beauty brand, R.E.M Beauty, has released a new collection called Goodnite N Go. It’s already available for purchase and features three new eyeshadow palettes, gel eyeshadows, an eyeshadow gloss, new lashes, cheek and lip multi sticks, an undereye balm, a face mist, and a lash a brow boosting serum.
I like that the brand is releasing an array of products that comprise a basic full line. This is really good for a new brand to be able to do.
I passed on the original collection and will be passing on this collection again. I feel like the packaging looks very cheap and it’s almost like they are stuck in Y2K era. It honestly looks like Claire’s makeup…Definitely passing on this collection.
Adept Cosmetics x Heather Austin Makeup
Indie Brand, Adept Cosmetics, is launching an eyeshadow palette in collaboration with Heather Austin. This palette features 12 shades in a mixture of matte, duochrome, and multichrome finishes and launches on March 25th at 12:00pm MST for $56 USD.
This palette looks absolutely stunning – particularly the special shades. The color story is unique and the formula looks absolutely gorgeous. I have never tried this brand, but I’m intrigued. I will most likely be picking it up!
Menagerie Cosmetics Sugar High Collection
Menarie Cosmetics is another indie makeup brand that I haven’t tried. They are launching their Sugar High Collection, which features an eyeshadow palette, three multichromes, three liquid lipsticks, a blush, and two bath whips.
The palette is $45 and looks SO PRETTY! It’s a 12 pan eyeshadow palette, featuring an array of colors in matte and metallic finishes. I’m undecided on this, as I have so many eyeshadow palettes that I need to use, but also love supporting indie brands. The color story is gorgeous and I know I’ll get a ton of use out it, but I’m not sure if I’ll pick it up.
The multichromes ($18) are stunning! I love me a good multichrome. I’m always looking for a good formulation from an indie brand, so may have to check these out.
The liquid lipsticks ($14.95) are very fun and have unique colors. I do love a good pop of color on the lips and these are fun and different. I will think about purchasing these for sure.
I’m not sure I’ll need the blush or bath whips, but they also look very nice!
The collection will be available on April 9th at 11:00 am PST.
Final Thoughts
I may be making a ton of purchases this week; mostly eyeshadow palettes! There are some fun makeup releases happening and I’m living for it! I look forward to reviewing all of these products in future blog posts, or on my YouTube channel.
I know everyone is going crazy the most over the new Colourpop x Avatar collection (very polarizing views).
