I love watching out for new makeup releases and beauty news throughout the week, so I thought I would make this a weekly series, much like I do on my YouTube channel, where I discuss all of the new makeup releases and beauty news that have been announced in the last week.
Makeup Revolution’s Owner Buys BH Cosmetics Out of Bankruptcy
Revolution Beauty is buying BH Cosmetics out of bankruptcy for $3.9million.
This news comes just weeks after BH Cosmetics announced that they were filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. Makeup Revolution is a beauty brand that can be found in many retailers throughout the United States and Europe. BH Cosmetics calls Los Angeles home. The acquisition of BH Cosmetics may give the U.K. based beauty brand the opportunity to expand further throughout the United States. Both brands offer a range of affordable beauty products. Revolution has stated that they intend to continue releasing products under the BH brand and will utilize both brand relationships internationally.
In my opinion, keeping the two beauty brands separate will be best for them.
I love the BH Cosmetics formula. They have really high-quality eyeshadows and makeup brushes for the price. I love their travel series eyeshadow palettes – Party in Puerto Rico is my favorite! Makeup Revolution, on the other hand, is very hit or miss for me – their eyeshadows are a chalky mess mostly and I don’t even have any of their palettes in my collection anymore.
I really hope this isn’t the start of the end of BH Cosmetics. So many people would miss their good quality, yet affordable makeup.
Natasha Denona Pastel Palette
Natasha Denona is releasing a new palette for Spring 2022 called Pastel
The palette has reportedly been leaked and actually launched in Europe before Natasha Denona gave the ‘go-ahead,’ which is interesting! There’s no news as to when it will be released in the United States but I believe it will launch here soon. This is the most exciting item of the new makeup releases of the week for me and for a lot of other people!
The palette includes 15 Spring, pastel shades with different finishes.
From playful pink and yellow to delicate purple and blue with creamy mattes, metallics, and a vibrant transparent multi-chrome that can be used alone or as a topcoat.
I am REALLY excited for this palette to launch.
I think it’s fun and different. The colors are quite unique to my collection. I would be interested to see if this is a midi palette or a full-size palette, though. I would love it a million times more if it was a midi palette because I won’t ever be able to use up a full-size palette and I think it’s a bit of a waste.
You better believe that I will be purchasing and reviewing this palette as soon as it launches.
What do you think of the palette?
Where to buy Natasha Denona:
ByRedo Flora Kalahari – $96
ByRedo has launched their Flora Kalahari palette
The Flora Kalahari palette includes 18 radiant, earthen shades, warm and cool undertones in matte, sparkling and metallic finishes. Longwear, crease-free, and pigmented formula. Housed in a reflective silver mirror case stamped with a marble desert flower that embodies the modern femininity of the palette.
The palette looks so gorgeous but…it’s $96
From looking at the photos of the palette, there are a few shades that look identical to one another. They also look like they’re all the same formula…that sheeny kind of eyeshadow that would look fantastic on the lid but not my cup of tea for the crease.
It’s interesting because I have no problem paying for a $129 Natasha Denona palette. However, this is very pricey for a brand I’ve never tried and the photos of the palette aren’t speaking to me.

Cay Skin by Winnie Harlow
Winnie Harlow is dropping a skincare brand called Cay Skin
The brand is coming soon in March 2022 on their website and Sephora and will include face products, body products, and more.
I’m interested to see what she comes out with, but I’m honestly a little tired of celebrity beauty brands.
GXVE By Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani is launching her new makeup brand called GXVE on March 3 on their website and Sephora
The brand’s lineup includes a few formulas of lipsticks, a pencil eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, multi-dimensional eyeshadow quads, and a priming oil.
I am interested in trying most of what the brand is releasing! The lipsticks are INTRIGUING because they seem to be her iconic red that she’s known for. The eye pencils look creamy and nice! The priming oil sounds nice for my dry skin. However, I’m not a fan of eyeshadow quads, as there’s only so many looks you can create with them. I like depth in my looks and changing things up a bit and I don’t think the quads will be able to give that to me. The pictures make the eyeshadow quads look dusty and chalky. I’m interested to see better pictures and swatches of each of the items so I can decide of I want to make a purchase when they launch on Thursday.
Colourpop x Star Wars
Colourpop has released a Darth-Vader inspired 9-pan eyeshadow palette
Welcome to the dark side. Go galactic with this Darth Vader eyeshadow palette! This palette features deep gray hues and taupe neutrals and a pop of red for $16.
I actually did purchase this palette and it is on its way! The review will be up as soon as I receive it and I’m excited to start creating looks with it as soon as I receive it. I purchased it because of the packaging since I’m a huge Star Wars fan. The color story is not really what I envisioned, but I really didn’t expect much more. I have learned to stop getting my hopes up for Colourpop releases because they will never create the most perfect palette that pleases everyone. I do love their formula and I think they are a great and affordable brand, so I know I’ll love the palette quality regardless.
You can purchase it here.
There’s always so much going on in the beauty industry.
The beauty industry is always working!
I do think that doing these blog posts about the new makeup releases and videos weekly will help me stay in touch with everything going on in the beauty community and it will also help me decide what I’ll really want to purchase and what I can pass on.

I knew BH had filed for bankruptcy but I didn’t know Makeup Revolution had bought them! I’ve never tried BH, and what I’ve tried from Revolution I’ve liked (highlighters, concealers & foundations)
And the gwen makeup line? I’m intrigued!!! Her makeup is iconic so i have a feeling this will be good. I feel like her brand will be representative of her, unlike haus of Gaga for example… (sorry not sorry)
